Haiti Rewired

Haiti Rewired was the first philanthropic technology project undertaken by WIRED in response to the 2010 earthquake that killed an estimated 300,000 people. Built atop Ning infrastructure, Haiti Rewired sought to position itself as a primary resource for communicating about technological and architectural solutions to a large-scale natural disaster that could be applied to other disasters around the world.

Arikia acquired Haiti Rewired from WIRED in 2015. The site is currently offline due to the hefty yearly hosting fees imposed by Ning, which has changed managerial hands several times since 2010 and is no longer being actively maintained.
